PE - Striking and Fielding

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities.

My Strengths

The striking strategy I was able to effectively demonstrate during the game we played was to play through the shot and following through.

The throwing and catching strategy I was able to effectively demonstrate during the game we played was soft hands for catching.

My Next Steps

To improve my striking of a ball I need to Keep my eye on the ball because it increases the chances of actually hitting the ball.

To Improve my catching and fielding I need to look at where you are aiming to throw the ball because it ensures greater accuracy of your throw.

The game that I enjoyed the most was Rounders because it is really fun hitting to try to get home runs because you get double points.

Evaluating information

I have been learning about if we should change the NZ flag or not. I reckon that we should change the flag because it look's too much like the Australian Flag. Here are some reason's why I think we should change the Flag, The silver fern has been part of our history and identity for many year's. And another reason is the colour black on the new flag is represented as the national colour.

Here is a link to our Evaluating information chart.

Leadership Food forest/Role model to the Kakano children

                                                                FOOD FOREST

Today the Year 8's and some of the Year 7's were in the food forest collecting seeds off the plants in the Food forest with the year 4's and Mr McAven. Afterwards we split up into four groups two group were using secateurs to shorten down all of the plants, then another group were doing chop and drop and they were chopping all the plants down to the ground with hedge clippers. The last group which was my group we setup like a big square with big metal gates then we put two chickens in so they could rip up the ground it was called the chicken tractor. The plants we were collecting the seeds from were called Red clovers, Borridge and Yaro.

Here is a photo of our chicken tractor.

It was pretty fun and next time I would do different things such as chop and drop.

Pals

Today for PAL's we put on our vests and we went out to set up, today we played touch for the Kauri students it was an alright turnout we had five people in each team and everyone played fair and passed the ball around. After a while one or two people left to go play a different game so I had to go in one team so it was fair. Then it got a bit boring so we mixed the teams up a bit so made the teams boys vs girls.
